ATV NETWORK WOULD LIKE TO THANK...

Firstly the cast and crew of Crossroads, mainly from the sixties and seventies, who have gone out of their way to make this documentary happen. Some cast have travelled from France to be part of the programme - at their expense. Others have made arrangements to be recorded especially for us in locations such as Australia. The absolute dedication to be part of this important documentary is a great testament to their friendship with Noele Gordon and Roger Tonge - whom this programme is dedicated to, and the charity they both helped establish - Crossroads Care.

The fact so many of the former Crossroads team were willing to be part of this also shows what a great deal of affection they have for the programme. As Tony Adams says "it was like a family" and from the response to this production that is clearly very true.

There are also companies and others who have assisted in making Return To Crossroads happen, they are...

ALPHA TOWER
Birmingham City Centre

Alpha Tower, originally called ATV Tower, was built by the ITV Midland company in the late 1960s as the company's new HQ. It didn't quite turn out that way in the end, however the tower has become one of the City's most fondly viewed towering landmarks. Directly opposite the highrise office block once stood the ATV Centre production facilities, however they closed in 1997 and are mostly demolished. Alpha Tower allowed us to record an interview between the tower and where the old studios once stood.

APOLLO HOTEL
Edgbaston, Birmingham

The Apollo has been ATV Midlands 'base' throughout this production and the hotel has been extremely kind to the programme throughout our time. We would especially like to thank the Apollo for allowing us to take over their Restaurant for a day to record interviews with the Crossroads Care charity and the people it supports.

BIRMINGHAM CATHEDRAL
Birmingham City Centre

Birmingham Cathedral staff Ruth Harvey and Jerome Reed made it easy to arrange a recording session in the beautiful St Philips Cathedral. ATV conducted an interview with Jane Rossington at the location, which had been host to a number of Crossroads related events over the years - including the recording of a major wedding within the programme in 1975 and a decade later hosted a memorial service to the saga's leading lady, Noele Gordon.

The Cathedral did not ask for any money for the time we took over the building, however because they were so helpful ATV have made a donation to St Philips. The place of worship really does have Christian values at its heart and the people of Birmingham are very lucky to have such a caring Cathedral, which from seeing the people visiting the historic location, is very much still the hub of the community in the city.

BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL LIBRARY
Birmingham City Centre

The Birmingham Central Library staff have been more than helpful to dig out information sources from their vast collection of television related material. We must especially thank the research department team who went out of their way for ATV to find items which had been 'archived' and were not on general viewing due to the impending relocation of the Central Library.

CHATEAU IMPNEY HOTEL
Droitwich Spa

This hotel has a long history with Crossroads and the ATV Midland broadcaster. The grounds featured in the 1970s in a promotional film for ATV which was seen daily across a number of months. The Hotel also became the Droitwich Hotel within Crossroads and made many appearances during the early 1970s in the saga.

We are grateful to managers Ben Elder and Ian Gelling for allowing us an afternoon of recording at the Chateau inside the complex and also in the beautiful grounds.

CROSSROADS CARE
Birmingham

With thanks to Barbara Rudge and the Crossroads Care charity in West Birmingham who have taken part in and supported the programme. The ATV side of the proceeds from this venture are to be donated to this branch of Crossroads Care.

LODGE HILL CEMETERY
Selly Oak

With thanks to Birmingham City Council and Lodge Hill Cemetery staff ATV were allowed to record the plot of Roger Tonge after closing hours on a sunny evening in February 2011. The staff of the complex were incredibly helpful - especially as we were keeping them back from 'clocking off'. They even helped transport ATV's recording equipment and crew from the gates (as our transport wasn't allowed beyond the closed gates) to Roger's memorial, which they didn't have to do.

ATV would especially like to thank the staff at Birmingham City Council's Environment Department who searched high and low for Roger Tonge's memorial details, due to Find a Grave providing entirely the wrong location and cemetery as his last resting place! They eventually tracked him down for us.

ST DAVID'S HALL
Cardiff

Across two days in October 2010 we had the great honour of being in the company of Stan Stennett MBE and his lovely wife Betty. They made us very much 'at home' and the highlight of this recording session was recording Stan hosting one of his tea dances at St David's Hall. We must thank the staff and hall management for making the recording process as easy as possible.

ST MARY THE VIRGIN CHURCH
Ross on Wye

Again Find A Grave had Noele listed at another St Mary's near Ross on Wye, but thanks to the Crossroads Fan Club we knew this time exactly where to record. St Mary's in the town centre of Ross on Wye are very proud that they are the home of Noele Gordon's final resting place and were thrilled that we planned to record her memorial for this programme. The grave of Noele is overlooking a beautiful valley, despite heavy rain it was very productive day and we wish to thank Revd Sarah Jones for her cooperation.
